Free PSAT Testing for Sophomores PSAT – Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test
The PSAT is the qualifying examination for the National Merit Scholarship Program and is administered in October of each year by The College Board to 10th and 11th grade students. The test measures verbal reasoning skills, math problem-solving skills, critical reading skills and writing skills that have been developed by students during the course of their education. The PSAT serves as a valuable tool to assist students and their parents with early college preparation and planning.


The PSAT test will be given
Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at PTHS.
This test is free to all sophomores at PTHS.

JUNIORS ONLY:
Juniors can take the PSAT/NMSQT on Oct. 15. As a junior taking this test, you may possibly qualify for scholarships. Juniors can bring $13.00 (correct cash or a check made out to PTHS) to Mrs. Pepper in the High School Counseling Center to register for this test.

Pine Tree High School is having a SAT Workshop where you can learn tips and strategies for taking the SAT test. The workshop is limited to the first 40 students who bring $40.00 to Mrs. Pepper in the High School Counseling Center. The dates of the workshop are Tues. Sept. 30 6-8 p.m., Thurs. Oct. 2 6-8 p.m., and Sat. Oct. 4 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. It is beneficial for the participant to attend all three sessions if possible.
