The PTHS Counseling Staff is here to guide students toward success. Our team includes four grade-level counselors who follow their assigned students from the beginning of high school to graduation and beyond. Each counselor is responsible for the
educational welfare of approximately 300 or more students.

A NOTE TO STUDENTS: |
If you need to talk to your counselor about academic issues such as schedule changes, graduation credit status, and college/career matters, your teacher must give you permission to leave class. Remember that you must have a hall pass to leave the classroom to visit the counselor's office. You may also sign up during lunch, before/after school or between classes providing you are not tardy to class. After signing, you need to return to class and wait for a counselor to send for you. Note: The counseling center does not issue tardy excuse passes to students who are late to class unless the counselor detains the student, causing the tardiness. Students with any kind of personal issue should
ask to see the counselor at once. Personal problems take priority over other matters. |

A NOTE TO PARENTS & GUARDIANS: |
The PTHS counseling staff is available to you and we look forward to discussing your
student's academic progress and/or challenges. Please understand that counselors have many responsibilities and obligations to students, faculty and administration and prefer to schedule appointments. We regret that parents often take time off from their job to travel to the school campus only to discover that the counselor is out ill or off campus at a meeting. Please call ahead and make an appointment with us. In doing so, we can prepare for your visit and efficiently maximize your time. |
