Accessing Your Pine Tree Outlook E-Mail |

|
There are 2 ways to access your Pine Tree e-mail. |
|
|
 |
1. From your Pine Tree Classroom/office computer.
You must first log on to your school computer using your user ID and password. |
|
|
 |
 |
Click on the Microsoft Outlook Icon on your desktop.
Outlook will open to your inbox.
|
|
|
|
|
 |
2. From the internet
Using your internet browser, (i.e. internet explorer) simply go to the
Pine Tree ISD Home Page: www.ptisd.org
Select the District e-mail access link from the list on the left.

 |
Log in using your user ID and password.
You don’t have to worry about the “domain name”.
|
|
|
|
|
 |
**Remember to keep your Outlook e-mail cleaned up.
Outlook keeps a copy of every e-mail that you send in your “sent items” folder.
Empty your deleted items folder. Right click on deleted items folder and select: empty “deleted items”. |

Contacts (Address Book) |

Add a new address to your Outlook Contacts
Select Contacts from your Outlook menu
Select “new” from the standard toolbar
Fill in contact information in the new contact window
If you have an e-mail from a contact that you would like added to your address book,
Open the e-mail
Right click on the sender’s e-mail address
Select "add to contacts"

Distribution Lists |

Create a distribution list by opening your Contacts folder.
Click on the drop down arrow next to “New” on the standard tool bar

Select “Distribution List” from the drop down list
Enter a name for your distribution list
To add addresses:
• Click on “select members” and make selections from either the global address list or your Outlook Contacts list
Or
• Click “add new” and enter e-mail address information
• Save and close |

Outlook Calendar |

You can change how your calendar is viewed by selecting "(1 ) day, (5) work week,(7) work week or (31) month" from the standard tool bar.
Adding Appointments:
Select the Calendar Folder from your Outlook Menu |

Double click anywhere on the calendar |
|

In the appointment window fill in all necessary information:
Subject
Location
Use the drop down arrows to select date and time or select all day event |

Select “Reminder” if you want a tone and pop up reminder of the appointment
Select “Recurrence” from the standard toolbar if the appointment is one that occurs on a regular basis
Save and close |

Sending E-mail Invitations |
|
|
 |
Invitations to meetings and other calendar events can be sent out from your Outlook Calendar. |
|
|
 |

Set up the appointment in your Outlook Calendar
Select “Invite Attendees”. This turns the appointment into e-mail. |

 |
Add addresses to the address bar; click send and your invitation is on its way |

Responding to an E-mail Invitation |
 |
 |
By clicking “accept” when you receive an e-mail invitation, the appointment will be automatically placed on your Outlook Calendar and will also send a reply to the invitee, letting them know you will be attending.
If you cannot attend the appointment, simply select “decline” and the sender will be informed that you will not be attending. You will have the option to add a comment to the e-mail response. |
