Hello, Welcome to Mrs. Grimes' Classroom! |
 |
 |
Hello!
I’m Mrs. Grimes, your fifth grade science and social studies teacher. Thank you for entrusting your child to me. I promise to do my best every day to be your child’s companion in learning. I look forward to the adventures that we have ahead of us.
As most of you are well aware, science is a TAKS tested subject this year. We are going to be doing everything we can to prepare each student for this important test.

Important Science Topics |
We will be covering many different topics in the following aspects of science.
Nature of Science (lab skills, process skills)
Life Science
Earth Science
Physical Science

Goals |
 |
 |
We plan to accomplish our goals through:
scheduled activities in our science lab
classroom demonstrations and discussions, and
vocabulary development
In order to aid in the accomplishment of the above goals, I would ask for you to be involved in your child’s learning process as much as you can. At home activities might include the study of two or three of our chapter vocabulary words at night. A continual review is much better than a last minute rush to learn the words. Through my years of teaching, I have learned that it benefits the students when they have a working knowledge of the vocabulary we are using in our discussions.
