 Welcome to Business Computer Information System (BCIS). Your education is active team effort involving a commitment from both you and me. Your responsibility is to prepare and ready to do your best in the class, and my responsibility is to facilitate your learning in an organized and safe environment. Each person in our class is an individual worthy of respect, and courtesy will be shown to everyone in the class.
The course curriculum is based on Microsoft Office applications for Microsoft Office 2000, XP and Future Versions of Office that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher. The objective is to facilitate the students in learning how to use computers as a valuable asset to help them in the Business, Career, Personal, and school roles in their life--and in the future.
Procedures: You will have a textbook issued to your work station (it may not be removed from the classroom). You are required to complete your daily assignments and activities during your class period. (No take home work) You are responsible for getting and making up assignments, class work, and test during tutorial periods.
Grading: Daily Grade 25% (formative) includes review questions, class activities, quizzes, printouts,etc... Major Grade 75% (summative) includes theory tests after the culmination of a unit of study, and application tests that measure the concepts mastered on the computer.
Supplies: Pocket Folder, pencil, and a box of Kleenex.
