Grant Awards for PTISD

Pine Tree ISD is proud to announce the following grant awards that our district received for specific projects in partnership with the following:
Grant Awards: Education Foundation
For the 2006-2007 school year, Friday the 13th, wasn’t such a bad day for teachers in the Pine Tree district who were visited by the PT Education Foundation Pirate Prize Patrol! The Education Foundation volunteers ventured out on April 13th to surprise the spring 2007 grant recipients. This year the foundation gave away $19,969.48 in grants to deserving teachers throughout the district. Contact Cathy Shipp, executive director for more information. Learn More.
PTA - Parent Teacher Association
Each of the four PTA units in the Pine Tree district raise funds and support grants for classrooms and school-wide projects. Applications and details are available from PTA representatives.
Grant Awards: DonorsChoose
DonorsChoose is a not-for-profit web site where teachers from our district, and all over the nation submit project proposals. These ideas become a classroom reality when concerned individuals choose projects to fund. Learn More

Exxon Mobil Corporation: November 2006
Exxon Mobil Education Alliance program supported the purchase of a new digital visualizer for teachers at the Pine Tree Intermediate campus to use during instruction. Terry Pickard, of Fastop No. 8 at the corner of Gilmer road and Fairmont Drive, worked to secure the grant of $500. Learn More
AEP SWEPCO Teacher Vision Grant Program: January 2007
Shana Bellatti of Pine Tree Junior High was notified by AEP SWEPCO representative, Betsy Warren that her grant application "Read to Learn, Learn to Read" was approved. A check in the amount of $401 dollars was included. Improving education in the communities they serve is a high priority for AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company. Teachers have an exciting challenge in motivating students to learn and think creatively, and SWEPCO has partnered with us help make that possible. Learn More
Humanities Texas Grant: March 2007
Humanities Texas, which supports and develops public programs grounded in history, literature, philosophy, and other disciplines of the humanities, funded a project in March featuring Celeste Walker, professional and nationally known author and playwright. A partnership with ArtsView Children’s Theatre and the Longview Public Library provided the experience for students to see how history and literature can come alive through the art of theatre. Celeste Bedford Walker’s works have been performed in major venues across the country including, the Kennedy Center and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Learn More
