We offer reading support through various reading programs. These programs are designed to assist children who are having difficulty learning to read by giving them alternative strategies. Programs include Project Read, Edmark, Literacy and Comprehension groups. These students are identified through various reading assessments. They meet in small groups of two to four students four to five times each week.

We offer math support for students who are below level and are having difficulty with various math skills. These students are identified through Benchmark math test scores. They meet in groups of two to five students four times a week.

We offer individual assistance to students in reading or math who need strategies to help them be successful with various skills in their classroom.

Hi. My name is Carol Barnard, and I have been in education for 28 years. This is my 15th year at Pine Tree. I have two children that graduated from Pine Tree. My daughter is 25 and teaches first grade in Carrollton. My son is 21, and he is a junior geology major at Baylor. I have been married to my husband, Earl, for 27 years. We have a yellow Lab, Max, who brings a lot of humor to our household. I love to shop, read, travel, and visit with friends.
I enjoy working with students in small reading groups each day to give them various strategies to help them be successful. My purpose is to support the instruction of the classroom teacher and give my students every opportunity to master skills in reading.
