Christopher Bethard is a 1991 Pine Tree High School graduate. After High school Chris attended Kilgore College. After several years working as a Funeral Director Chris was hired by the Gregg County Sheriffs Office in 1998 as a Jailer. While working at GCSO Chris attended East Texas Police Academy where he graduated Validictorian and served as Class Speaker. After Graduation in 2001 Chris was selected for employment by The City of Longview as a Patrol Officer. In April of 2004 Chris was selected to serve as School Resource Officer in Pine Tree ISD. Chris is a Member of the Longview Police Departments Crisis Intervention and Negotiation Unit and is a Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Standards and Education Instructor. He is a Member of the National Association School Resource Officers, the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators and the Texas Fraternal Order of Police. Chris lives in the Pine Tree area with his Wife of 10 years Jennifer and two children, Hunter and Alyssa, who attend Pine Tree ISD.
