Ahoy Mates! Come aboard the Schulik Schooner as together we set sail for an adventurous year in Kindergarten. My name is Cheryl Schulik and this is my 5th year at Pine Tree Primary. I received my education at Stephen F. Austin University and Texas Women's University. After graduation I moved to California and taught The Deaf and Hard of Hearing for three years.

I have two children in the Pine Tree district, one in sixth and the other in eighth grade. We have found Pine Tree to be a great school district.

It is a privilege to teach your children and help them develop the basic foundational skills of reading and math. During the kindergarten year, your child will learn to identify letters and sounds, which will result in their ability to read and construct basic sentences. The Bridges math program used in Kindergarten provides many hands-on activities that will help your child learn number identification, number counting of sets to twenty, patterning, and problem solving.

You play a key role in your child’s education. Please take time to encourage your child and reinforce the basic skills that they learn in Kindergarten.

So get ready to set sail for a great Kindergarten voyage.
