Welcome to Pine Tree Elementary and to the 2007-2008 school year. I am excited to be a member of this great team and I look forward to getting to know you all as the year progresses.

This school year is the beginning of my 22nd year in education! Time really does fly when you are having fun!
I am beginning my second year as principal here at PTE. I began my teaching career in my hometown of Ore City, where I taught second and third grade. I then moved to San Antonio where I taught kindergarten. Life brought me back to Longview, and I spent eight years here at this campus, teaching second grade! I left PTE for a short time and served as a consultant at Region VII Education Service Center in Kilgore and as an assistant principal at Rice Elementary in Tyler.
Katharine Graham once said, "To love what you do and feel that it matters - how could anything be more fun?" I LOVE my job and truly believe that what we do here matters in the lives of our children and that we DO make a difference. I consider it a blessing to be an educator and I am proud to be "back home" at Pine Tree Elementary!
