In order to guarantee your child, and all of the students in the classroom, the excellent learning climate they deserve, we have based our discipline plan on the following philosophy: All students deserve a learning environment free of disruption. No student will be allowed to disrupt the teaching and learning process. Our definition of misbehavior includes any action that intentionally alters, disrupts, or threatens the learning environment.

RULES:
1. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS the first time.
2. WALK slowly and quietly.
3. SPEAK quietly and politely.
4. KEEP HANDS, FEET, AND OBJECTS to yourself.
5. RESPECT the rights and property of others.
6. BE PROMPT AND RESPONSIBLE.

If a student chooses to break a rule or misbehave:
1. Verbal warning
2. Sign in on discipline sheet and 5 minutes isolation during free time
3. Sign in on discipline sheet and 15 minutes isolation during free time
4. Sign in on discipline sheet and student will call parent and/or student
will be sent to the office

Each time a student signs the discipline sheet, a point is deducted from his or her conduct grade for the six week period.

Students who follow the rules will earn:
1. Praise and privileges
2. Class and school recognition
3. Treats, parties, and favors
4. Free time
5. Improved grades, improved self-esteem
