Dear Pine Tree Band Parent,
In order for you to set vacations and other family plans for next summer I thought it might be helpful if you knew our dates for next summers band camp and preseason band rehearsal schedule. Enclosed, please find information concerning the costs relating to marching band and other expenses accompanying a new marching season. Eighth graders will receive this information also as we know they are anxious to know what it will be like to be in the high school band.
Preseason Camp and Rehearsal Schedule: (all rehearsals and events are mandatory)
July 28 Registration, Uniform Check-out, Instrument and Music Check-out.
Seniors & Juniors 9-11 a.m.
Sophomores 1-3 p.m.
July 29 Registration, Uniform Check-out, Instrument and Music Check-out, and
band pictures.
Freshmen 9:00 a.m. noon
9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Students with last names beginning with A-L
10:30 - noon Students with last names beginning with M-Z
Full Band 2-5 p.m. Band Pictures
July 30 - 8 a.m.- noon Full Band Rehearsal
August 1-5 Band Camp
August 8-12 8 a.m. noon
August 15-19 8 a.m. noon
August 23 School Begins
FLAG AND TWIRLER PRACTICES
These practices are usually in the afternoon of August 8-12 and August 15-19.
Band Rehearsals when school begins: (all rehearsals and performances are required)
Rehearsals begin daily at 7:30 a.m.
Monday nights 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at football stadium
Tuesdays 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Brass Sectional
Thursdays 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Woodwind Sectional
3:45 - 5:00 p.m. Percussion Sectional
Fridays Football games every Friday night
EXPENSES
$75 band fee uniform cleaning, meals that we provide, other operating expenses
$10 team tshirt
$10 band tshirt
$30 band shoes** (only if needed)
$25 per semester instrument maintenance fee (for students that play a school-owned instrument)
Optional purchases:
$5 band window decal
$10 - $14 band parent shirts
$7 Band exhibition meal tickets at preseason practice
$10 Band Booster Fee (must be a member of booster club to qualify for band scholarships)
