Hello, my name is Jerri Hamilton. I am a native of Longview (Lobos ’73) but have lived in Tampa and Pensacola, FL where I received the first several years of my college education. When returning to the great state of Texas, I finished up at UT/Tyler. I am currently working in my 21st year of public school teaching. The first 4 years I spent with 4th graders in Center, TX. A job transfer brought my family back to Longview where I have spent the last 17 years working at Pine Tree in the dyslexia services. I have a wonderful husband of 34 years, Terry, and two children, Brett and Leah and a son-in-law, Thomas.

Being of the peace time generation, military life was somewhat foreign to my husband and me. However, we have been exposed to it in recent years through our son. Brett, 82nd Airborne, served in Afghanistan for a year in the U.S. Army. We are very proud of his desire to serve and protect our freedoms. Leah has a wonderful job in Denton as a service manager for Wells Fargo. Thomas is on the Geek Squad at Best Buy. It's great to have a computer expert in the family.

My husband and I live just outside the city limits of Longview on 13 acres. Our little piece of land enables us to have several dogs who are priviledged to run free. They are Sugar, Fred Midnight, and our new Rotweiler puppy, Dixie. We also enjoy having a decent sized vegetable garden where I spend a lot of my summer shucking corn and shelling peas. We definitely enjoy the fruits of our labors all year long.
