Hello, welcome to our 5th grade Language Arts class! My name is Jo Lynn McKnight and I enjoy exploring new worlds, ideas, and events through reading. Reading allows everyone to travel to the limits of their dreams. Outside of school, I love to ride horses, walk through the park, swim, and spend time with my family. My husband, Randy, is a mechanic and that is a true blessing to me because all I know about a car is how to fill it with gasoline and to drive between the lines. ha! We both enjoy riding motorcycles and being involved with the choir and youth at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.
The goals that I have for my students are to become more acquainted with books, their purposes and meanings and tie those experiences into their everyday lives. I want reading to be enjoyable and a fresh start to the world beyond their own boundaries of everyday life. What books did I enjoy growing up? ....I loved anything dealing with animals and nature. Smile! Reading truly influenced my life. |
