I am Jo Ann Root. I am married to Paul, my husband of 26 years. We have 2 sons and a daughter. We also have the special blessing of a beautiful, three year old granddaughter. When I'm not staying late at school, I'm usually spending time with her.
My husband and I love to go camping and fishing with our Australian Shepherd, Bailey.
My first career choice was nursing, and I still work a few hours weekly in that field. When my 3 children came of school age, I went back to school to become a teacher. I always try to remember in my teaching what it is like to be the parent of a child in school. I know that we all love our own children and we want the best for them no matter what the obstacles. I keep that in mind with all of my students. Public education comes with its problems, but I honestly believe that it is absolutely possible to get the best education here at Pine Tree when educators and families work together.
