01) I believe every classroom is a unique community of learners and each citizen of that community has the ability to learn, lead, and model what is taught. I believe these citizens have the right to operate in a welcoming, caring, safe, and stimulating atmosphere where they can grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
02) I believe students are our greatest hope for tomorrow; therefore, education should be holistic, relevant, and constantly evolving to ensure all students are ready for the global world they will work and live. In other words, it is incumbent upon us that each student develop in rigorous academics, athletics, fine arts, a second language, character education, and community involvement. All these disciplines must be aligned with the state TEKS, the instruction differentiated and inquiry based, and all classroom explorations must be relevant to the student and cultivate curiosity and a love for learning.
03) As the instructional leader and professional educator, I believe it is my charge to communicate the vision, model integrity, respect, and positive expectations, and empower all stakeholders to be active participants in the processes that enable each student’s growth. In addition, I must invest heavily in my staff, ensuring opportunities for growth and collaboration, providing support, and opportunities for leadership.
Personally, I believe we should teach each student with the effort and intensity that at any given moment, we could be teaching the next president of the United States.
