Hi, my name is Mrs. Hewitt. I just wanted to tell you a little about myself. I've lived in Longview since my family moved here when I was a sophomore in High School in 1981. I graduated from Pine Tree HS in 1983. After two years at Baylor in the wrong major (business) I decided to go to UT Tyler and pursue a degree in teaching. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood. My first teaching job was a third grade class in Marshall at Crockett Elementary. After four years there and the birth of my son, I got a job at Pine Tree teaching second grade. This is my 17th year at Pine Tree Elementary. I really enjoy teaching and it is great being employed by my alma mater.
My family consists of my husband J.R., my son Tyler, my spoiled rotten 74 pound lap dog, Aggie and myself. My son turned 16 in March and is in 11th grade. He is driving now and driving me crazy to go on little errands here and there. He just got a truck in July and he spends many hours polishing the chrome bumpers and rims. He plays the trombone in the PTHS band. I love watching him march at football games. My husband J.R. works for Norris Cylinder. My family and I enjoy camping trips in our fifth wheel travel trailer. This summer we camped at an RV resort in Galveston, Texas. We also spent a week camping at Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. The picture at the top of the page shows Tyler and me on one of the nature trails in Ark. Besides camping I enjoy other hobbies like quilting, cooking, reading and plants. Hopefully this has helped you get to know me a little better! |
