We will have lots of TAKS testing going on at the Junior High this year. The 8th graders will be tested in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The 9th graders will be tested in Reading and Math.

This year our 8th graders became an SSI (Student Success Initiative) grade. They must attain passing scores in Reading and Math to be promoted to the 9th grade*.

3rd, 5th, and 8th grades are now SSI grades with the Exit Level Test being administered in the 11th grade.

We are constantly striving for excellence with our students and continue to look for ways to help all of them achieve success. Pine Tree has long carried a tradition of excellence.

   * For SSI grades, there are scheduled retest
dates for Reading and Math. If a student does not pass the original administration, they will have opportunities for remediation and retesting to avoid retention.
