Communities In Schools (CIS) Offers students a variety of opportunities to find self-determination and full potentional to be successful in school. Smart Girls is a program I am starting to benefit girls, and to get them Smart about good choices and decisions. They will be actively involved in group activities and discussions. Also they will learn to be confident in Science and Math related fields. SMART Girls will get the opportunity to work with well-known engineers in the community from industries like Eastman and LeTourneau. Fun, Fab, and Educational!

Of course we have to find a way to get the students off campus for awhile to take a break...We had our first field trip in November. Some of PT CIS Students went to another CIS campus and Networked with their students. It was a fun event. They had a chance to meet new people and learn communication skills. I'll keep you updated on upcoming field trips.

Now is the time for students to think about what they want to do when the Graduate from High School. Parents and Students need to get educated on the benefits of going to college, how to get into college, and where to start. CIS students get to learn about different colleges.
