Reading and writing skills are vitally important to almost everything we do. In 8th grade ELAR we work on critical thinking skills and reading comprehension. The Accelerated Reading program is one important ingredient of our curriculum.
AR cut-off dates: Sept. 27,
Nov. 8, Jan. 6, Feb. 21,
Apr. 10, and May 9. We will be studying drama, mythology, and poetry, writing essays, reading short stories and novels, and studying grammar. Eighth graders get to experience a variety of enriching reading and writing activities. This should prove to be an exciting, growing year!
