1. Students should have a one-inch binder with a set of dividers for math. They are allowed to bring these home for you to look at. Graded papers, notes, and other assignments are in there for you to see.
2. Each day, check your child's homework folder for homework assignments. Math homework will be given often. These notebooks will be sent home on Fridays for you to sign over the weekend. Also on the assignment sheet, you will be able to check for any behavior sign-ins. This homework folder is almost exactly what they had last year in 5th grade at Pine Tree.
3. Ask your student to bring home his/her Math binder any time you wish to see the graded papers.
4. Periodically, ask your child if he needs any notebook paper or other supplies.
5. Students are required to correct any paper on which they make below 70. Ideally, they would do this at home, but I provide the opportunity each morning for them to come to my room, starting at 7:30, to correct these papers or ask questions about homework.
6. I like to communicate with parents, so contact me any time. Email is fast and easy, and that way I will have your email address if I did not get it on meet-the-teacher day.
7. Morning tutorials are available in my room at 7:30 if there are questions on homework or if a student has been absent and needs extra help.
