T-shirts will be available for the students to purchase if they would like.   The front is going to say Pine Tree Middle 2011-2012 with 2 tabs on it and the back says Stop bullying 1 tab at a time.  The Curtis/Rhodes classes have made posters and put them around the school and will be making anti-bullying statements on the announcements throughout the year.

9-11 TRIBUTE

Friday, September 9th we will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks in a very special way. We will declare that Friday as ‘Red, White, and Blue Day’ at PT Middle School, but with a twist – all 5th grade students will wear red, all employees will wear white, and all 6th grade students will wear blue. If participation is 90% or higher in each class, we will go outside after announcements to the library lawn. Each color group will have a special place to stand as we create a giant red, white, and blue tribute to the memory of our fallen citizens. This will be an excellent photo opportunity from the roof of our building. We will culminate by reciting our pledges, observing a very special moment of silence, and we hope to have a live trumpet rendition of ‘taps’.

SPACE CONTACT

The winning students whose questions were selected in their science classes will travel to the Community Center Friday, September 9th where Mr. Tommy Gober will establish audio contact with the International Space Station. One by one, our students will get to read their questions to an astronaut aboard the station!

Show your school spirit!

Wear your blue and gold on Fridays.
