Hello -
My name is Noreen Toarmina and I am the assistant principal at Pine Tree Intermediate School. I have just finished my first year here in that position. I began my career in education as a second and then third grade teacher. I stayed home for several years with my own children and was a full-time mom. When I returned to teaching, I taught at the middle school. I started back to teaching as a sixth grade language arts teacher and then when Pine Tree went to team teaching I just taught reading. I then had the opportunity to be a counselor at the 5/6 campus and enjoyed several years doing that before I moved to the high school to be a counselor there. I came to Pine Tree Intermediate from the high school last August. It has been a great experience to once again have the opportunity to work with the younger students. However, I have found joy with all the different age students that I have been privileged enough to work with throughout my years in education.
I graduated from Marshall High School and then attended Baylor University, where I graduated with my B.S. in Education. I also attended SFASU to acquire a masters degree in elementary education and several years later went to UT Tyler to earn a second masters in counseling. I have two daughters. One has just completed her first year at Texas A&M after graduating from Pine Tree High School. My youngest daughter will be a sophomore in the fall at Pine Tree High School.
I look forward to getting to know our returning fourth graders even better next year. I am very excited to meet our awesome group of third graders that we have heard great things about from the elementary school.
