This year is off to a terrific start!  We have a lot of hard-working students on our team, and I know we will have a great year together!

If you have not heard my story, I have enjoyed teaching 40 plus years, mostly in fifth grade. I am a graduate of University of Louisiana in Monroe, Louisiana.  I also did graduate work at Louisiana State University, so I am a real LSU Tiger fan. (I do cheer for my Texas teams, unless they are playing LSU.)  I actually began my teaching career at West Monroe Junior High, and taught in junior high for a number of years.  Later, I moved to Shreveport, Louisiana and began teaching 5th grade. That grade seemed such a good fit for me that I have remained in 5th grade ever since.

I have two grown children, Amber and Clay, who both now have families of their own in the Longview area.  I am also blessed to have 5 (and one more on the way) delightful grandchildren who call me "Mamaw". 

I have taught in Pine Tree Middle since my move to Longview in 1989, and have partnered with Mrs. Alicia Hipke for most of those years. In recent years, we have been blessed to add Mrs. Jessica Carlisle (no relation) to our team.  We love working together and look forward to another great year!
