Our Teacher of the year at the Primary is Mickey Walton. Teaching PE is her passion. She enjoys being actively involved with the children. The gym is a place where all children have an opportunity to learn about life skills and become physically active and have fun. When children are genuinely happy it's her belief that a happy child will become a successful one.
This is Mrs. Waltons 28th year at PTISD to teach P.E. and second year to teach Kindergarten. She is very excited about this school year and meeting all her new students. Her goal is to actively involve each child everyday in fun, healthy physical activities. Hopefully this will encourage the children to discover several activities they can enjoy throughout their lives to stay healthy and fit.
Mrs. Walton is married with two adult children, four grandchildren and raising a great-niece. She is a graduate of Kilgore High School. Mrs. Walton received her Associate of Arts degree from Kilgore College, Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Jarvis Christian College.
