PT beats 5A schools Longview & John Tyer at UIL White Oak Meet Febrary 10 |
The journalism team captured the lst place team win at the White Oak UIL tournament beating out 5A powerhouses like Longview High School and John Tyler.
The team consisted of Megan Aragon, Jordan Denkins and Brenda Johnson.
In Headline writing Brenda won lst place, Jordan 2nd and Megan, 3rd.
In Feature writing Megan won lst and Brenda took 2nd.
In News writing Brenda won lst, Megan 3rd and Jordan 4th.
In Editorial writing Jordan won lst, Brenda placed 3rd and Megan took 6th. |

Pine Tree Invitational UIL Meet held January 13 |
Congratulations to all who participated in Journalism UIL!! Especially Brenda Johnson, a new journalism student, who placed 2nd in Feature Writing, 6th in News Writing, and 4th in Editorial Writing!! That's impressive for only two weeks of learning new skills!! Students who also took home medals are: C.J. Root, Katie Rawlings, and Megan Aragon. Good job girls!! |
