Longview police officer, Roger Askew, is the School Resource Officer at Pine Tree Junior High. A life-long resident of Longview, Askew graduated from Spring Hill High School and attended Kilgore College, majoring in criminal justice.

Askew has been a Longview police officer for 5 years, working midnight patrol. He is a mounted patrol officer and is proud of his horse partner, Charlie (AKA 50-Cent because of his branding). Askew is a member of the police crisis negotiator team, bicycle team, and honor guard. He enjoys team roping and hunting. As a professional bull rider, Askew rode bulls in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association for seven years.

Askew replaced officer Chad Lemaire who was promoted to a supervisory position with the Longview Police Department. Askew and his wife have two children.
