Our children are our future!
Reading is Fun!
Pine Tree Elementary offers diverse approaches to provide effective reading strategies in order to maximize student success. Reading and Literacy Groups are utilized for students who need extra support for reading intervention. These programs are individualized based on student assessment and observation of reading behaviors. Reading strategies are taught to build a foundational suppport for scafolding complex reading processes. Daily instruction for each child is analyzed and aligned for accelerated progress. Our goal is to simplify the complexity of the reading process for every child.

First Grade Parents:
Continue to read each night with your child. Have your child read the two books from his/her reading folder, put together the cut up sentence, and quickly read the sight words. Remember to sign the yellow sheet and return all items to school.
Thanks for your support at home in the continued success in reading for your child.

Second Grade Parents:
Encourage your child to read the library book or classroom reader to you each night. Ask your child questions about the story after each paragraph or page. Have your child find the answers to "prove it" in the paragraph or page they just read. This really helps with their comprehension and should make it easier for them to do this work in the classroom.
