Welcome Back to School! |
My name is Salena Goza and this is my 2nd year with Pine Tree Elementary. I have taught many grade levels including K,5,1 and now 2. I am married to Paul Goza and I have 2 sons. My oldest, Jeffrey, is a senior at LeTourneau University and my youngest is a sophmore at Bennington College. Teaching is truly a very rewarding career. I love working with your children! |

Helpful Hints for a Successful Year |
Please read daily with your child. This will improve their reading comprehension, fluency and increase their vocabulary. Practice makes perfect! Sign their reading log to record the minutes that your child read. |
|
Writing |
We are working on writing in complete sentences with a capital letter at the beginning and punctuation at the end of the sentence. We are also working on nouns and verbs. |
|
Math |
In Math, we are working on place value with numbers to 100. We are practicing adding, subtracting, patterns, and graphing. Please help your child by practicing the addition and subtraction Math facts found in their folders. |
|
Homework |
Check your child's folder nightly for discipline, spelling words, sight words, math facts and homework sheets. Please initial the discipline section to show that you saw it. |
|
Spelling |
I will send home a Spelling list each Monday. Please practice these words nightly. The lists will always follow a simple rule (ex. Long a words) |
