Español ¡Vale la Pena!
Spanish III Regular

This course is designed for the student who wants to take a third year of Spanish but does not want to take Spanish IV or V. This class provides a more in depth study of the grammar concepts learned in Spanish I and II. The vocabulary is grouped into real life situations.
Spanish III Pre-AP
This course is designed for students who may want to continue with Spanish 4 Pre AP and Spanish 5 AP. We use the textbook Realidades 3, by the same publisher as the textbooks used in Spanish 1 and 2. The vocabulary is presented and learned as it is grouped and used in the textbook. The students will learn all of the indicative and subjunctive tenses as well as other advanced grammar concepts. The students will have written homework as well as being responsible for memorizing vocabulary.
Spanish IV Pre AP
Prerequisite: Spanish III Pre AP
This fourth level course consists of a review of advanced grammar concepts. Vocabulary will be taught within the context of short readings and literature, as well as grouped vocabulary. There will be an emphasis on understanding the spoken language, understanding reading selections, and oral communication. Except for the grammar explanations, the class is conducted primarily in Spanish.
Spanish V AP
Prerequisite Spanish IV Pre AP
This fifth level course is designed to prepare students for the Spanish AP exam. The exam tests knowledge on a third year college level. As a result, a student who passes the exam can receive up to 4 semesters of college credit. I encourage all the students to speak only in Spanish during the class as part of their participation grade. We use three main texts: Una Vez Más (grammar), Encuentros Maravillosos (literature), and Triángulo (vocabulary). We will practice the 4 sections of the AP exam: listening, reading, speaking and writing. Vocabulary and grammar will be reviewed and new vocabulary learned through these activities. This class is conducted entirely in Spanish.
