Conference period 1:50 - 2:50
warm -ups
* participation grade.
* 1st five minutes of class.
* 2-3 problems on overhead.
* Grade in class together.
*One page of paper needed for a week.
* On Friday, I will pick them up. If all problems are complete, check is given, If not, a check minus is given.
* All checks accumulate at the end of the 6 weeks.
* Grading scale based on weeks completed.
6 checks = 105
5 checks = 103
4 checks = 100
3 checks = 75
2 checks = 50
1 check = 25
0 checks = 0
Notes
Most Lessons presented will have a notes sheet with examples and practice problems.
Math book and Workbook
* We will use the math book mainly for class work, although it may come home anytime.
* Most homework will come from worksheets.
* Your child should have homework on average 2 -3 days per week.
Tutorials
*I am available for tutoring unless it is my duty week.

*Afternoons 2:50 - 3:30
Late Work
*10 pts. off per day starting at 100pts.
*I will not accept late work on participation grades or extra credit.
Extra Credit
*I have extra credit on my shelf at all times.
*Students may pick it up any time.
*It will consist of 2 worksheets that are usually challenging concepts or reinforcing learned concepts.
*There will be a due date on the chalkboard, then I will put out 2 more worksheets.
*Worksheets are due after about 2-3 days after they are put on the shelf.
*Grading is based on a point system.
*The amount of points the student receives depends on the percentage of correct problems.
*These points are accumulated throughout the 6 weeks and are then added to the student's lowest grade(s).
Retakes
*Students are allowed to redo or make corrections on any grade below a 70, unless it is below a 70 due to being late.
*Original paper needs to be stapled to corrections and turned back in.
*The corrections are graded and that grade is averaged with the original grade.
*The highest you can bring a failing grade up to with a retake is a 70 , which will be a passing grade.
Misc.
*I drop the lowest grade each 6 weeks.
*I give homework passes as earned rewards. They are used to replace any grade (except a test) with a 100.
*If absent, you are excempt from that day's warm -up /TAKS grade. You have 3 days to make up any other work.
*Seating chart changes every 3 weeks, unless a student needs preferred seating.
*I choose a helper each week to assist in passing out papers or running errunds. This is on a rotational schedule to include everyone in the class.
