Evaluation Rubric 1 for revised and edited writing assignments
Evaluating Your Writing
Since writing is a process, not a product, your writing is evaluated in various stages of this process. We are working on several drafts responding to different topics. As we study exemplary segments of the writing process, your writing will be evaluated on the parts we have studied and are currently studying. For example, at the beginning of the third six weeks, you should be able to interpret a topic statement, write an exemplary thesis statement containing both a narrowed topic and an opinion about that topic, map your ideas into an outline that reflects both opinions and references to personal stories or examples for those opinions, and write an effective introduction and conclusion.
