1. Read everyday! Anything, not just books! Newspaper, signs on the road, magazines, anything!
2. Read to your child... let them hear your reading and model for them reading for pleasure.
3. Provide a variety of materials for them to read. Books, magazines, newspapers, and so on.
4. Discuss with your child the stories they read. Talk about the characters, setting, and plot of thier stories!
5. Practice sight words and vocabulary daily. Make a game out of it... give your child clues to help figure out what words mean that we are studying. |
